Welsh Rarebit


Welsh Rarebit (Cheese on Toast)


2 pieces  Fresh slice bread, well buttered
2 large tbsp. Beer
1 tbsp Butter
1 cup Cheddar cheese
pinch Salt and pepper to taste
pinch Mustard powder


Put two the beer into a saucepan and add 1 tbsp. of butter

Add 1cup of cheese, then seasoned with salt and pepper

Add a pinch of mustard powder

Stir ingredients over a low heat until thoroughly hot (but not boiling)

Pour the mixture onto slices of well buttered, freshly made toast.

Brown lightly for a few moments under the grill.

Serve immediately
