Broccoli Sauté

 

Chinese Broccoli Sauté

Ingredients:

1 lb.  Chinese Broccoli, cut 2 inch long, including the white stems, and drain well
3 tbsp.  Chinese wine vinegar
1/2 lb. medium size Shrimps, shelled, de vein, slit in the middle
1/4 cup  Light soy sauce
1 tsp. Chinese Five spice powder
1 medium size  Onion, chopped roughly
1 tsp. Garlic, minced
2 tbsp.  Cooking oil, Canola or Vegetable
some  Fresh Ground Pepper to taste

Procedure:

Wash well the broccoli, trim the hard part, it should be drain  and dry well.

Heat a wok, smoky hot, pour the oil and put and sauté the garlic and onion until translucent, for 3 minutes.

Combine the shrimps, wine vinegar, soy sauce and five spice powder, stir and simmer for 4-5 minutes.

Add the broccoli and stir until the sauce mixture coated evenly and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until they look sparkling green and crispy.

Serve warm with bed of steamed rice or Chinese Chow Mien.

Serve 4 people.

 

 

Cooking time: 12-15 minutes

Preparation time: 15 minutes

 

Simple tips:

If Chinese broccoli is not available, you can always use the normal broccoli florets.

You can alter meat like diced beef or pork, if you don't like shrimps.
